ROMAN Books is a leading publisher of literature and literary criticism. Though headquartered in India, we are entirely based in USA where we are solely represented by Atlas Books, a division of BookMasters, Inc. Our books are sold in leading US bookstore chains including Barnes and Noble, Borders, Books-a-Million and Amazon.com.

Being an English-language trade and academic publisher, our publication portfolio is concentrated mainly on fiction and poetry written in English language, and literary criticism written on English literature. We welcome proposals for fiction (novel, novella, short story collection), poetry, literary criticism, literary research, monographs (related to English literature) and anthology of critical essays.

We hardly consider non-fiction (other than literary criticism) and non-literary textbooks for publication. We strongly discourage authors to submit their entire manuscript in the first instance.

For novels and novella your proposal should contain a concise note on the uniqueness of your novel, a detail chapter-by-chapter summary and three sample chapters.

For poetry and short story collection your proposal should contain a concise note on the uniqueness of the collection and five sample poems / short stories.

For literary criticism, literary research and monographs please send a 1000 word abstract, a detail chapter-by-chapter / essay-by-essay synopsis and three sample chapters / essays.

For anthology of critical essays, please send your proposal with a 500 word abstract, a list of the articles to be submitted and the details of the corresponding contributors including their institutional affiliations, if any.

All submissions must be electronically typed — we do not accept handwritten proposals.  Each submission must contain your short biography of approximately 300 words and a covering letter (or e-mail if applicable) without which we shall be unable to consider the proposal.

Once received your proposal will be given full consideration by our experienced editorial board. You can expect a reply from us within 6-8 weeks. We also recommend you to keep a copy of your submission as no proposal will be returned. Once we like your proposal we shall ask you to submit the entre manuscript in hardcopy.
